What is not covered by the warranty

  • Damage from natural disasters (hail, storms over 100 km/h, lightning strikes). Covered by property insurance.
  • Vandalism and equipment theft.
  • Unauthorized changes to the system by third parties.
  • Production drop due to shading from new construction or growing trees.

FAQ

Frequently asked warranty questions

What happens if the inverter breaks after 6 years?
An inverter has a manufacturer warranty of 5 to 10 years (depending on the model). If it breaks in that period, we mediate with the manufacturer for replacement or repair. If it is after the warranty period, the MySolar team repairs it according to the service pricing (most often only the labour cost + parts).
Do panels really lose 20% of efficiency in 25 years?
Yes, but in reality tier-1 panels after 25 years usually still operate at 87-90% of rated power. The linear 25-year warranty means the manufacturer guarantees a minimum 80% of rated power at the end of the period. If it drops below that, you get a replacement.
What if a storm damages the panels?
Damage from storms (hail, wind over 100 km/h) is not covered by manufacturer warranties, but it is covered by property insurance. Our team can help with the claim with the insurance company.
Does the warranty cover a drop in production?
If the drop is due to an equipment fault within the warranty period, yes. If it is due to external factors (storm, damage, faulty EPS connection), it is not covered by equipment warranty, but we can diagnose it.
How do I file a complaint?

What if I sell the house — does the warranty transfer to the new owner?
Yes. Warranties on equipment (panels, inverter) transfer automatically. The installation warranty (2 years) transfers only if MySolar is notified before the sale. We help with documentation for the prosumer status transfer.
